The challenges we experience in communications often stem from the differences in communication styles.
How often have you experienced a meeting to go 100% as planned? Sometimes everything does gel, and the meeting runs smooth.
However, more often the meeting goes off the rails because you had Jane in the corner chatting away, having a side bar about her golf game she had over the weekend, you had Bob giving you a deep dive response to a question that really only required a one word response, and you had Joe loudly trying to take over the meeting to get his action items taken care of rather than the priorities at hand.
Recognizing that there are strengths and liabilities to each style is the first step in demystifying how to create alignment rather than disconnect, so that you can ultimately achieve a quality connection, no matter who you encounter.
